With Easter less than a few weeks away I wanted to give you a quick and simple recipe you can make at home for yourself or as gifts. I featured these raw balls in my March subscription box and they went down a storm! Although not a lover of ‘real’ hot cross buns, I did enjoy snacking on these!
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1 cup ground almonds
- 20 dried dates (soaked in warm water for 10 minutes and drained)
- 1/2 cup currants
- 3 tsp mixed spice
- Place the walnuts into your processor and blend until broken down into a fine crumb. Add in ground almonds, dates, currants and mixed spice. Blend until mixture becomes sticky and begins to clump together (if mixture is too dry option to add a tablespoon of melted coconut oil).
- Use a tablespoon measure to measure out the mixture and roll into balls.
