Many people under estimate the importance of water. Water is essential for life. It makes up about 60% of our body weight and performs crucial roles within our bodies. Even our brain is made up of 73% water!!! The minimum you should be drinking is 2 litres for normal bodily functioning, even more if you are doing exercise or an intense training regime.
Yes I know, I know. Drinking litres of water a day is HARD. WORK. But you would be crazy not to take advantage of the huge amount of benefits that come from drinking H20 for ZERO calories or sugar.

Most people are scared too much water will make them bloated. This is not the case. You actually hold more water if your body is dehydrated. Sometimes when I am really good with water I hit 4 litres! I always noticed when I was my leanest (lowest body fat %) my hydration levels were the highest (in the 60% range according to my scales). Why is this? Well for a start water helps improve the digestive process as well as contributes to proper metabolisation of food. It is also an essential part of the bodily processes which help to metabolise fat. Studies have found that dehydration actually increases fatty deposits, whereas proper hydration reduces them because our organs need the water to metabolise fat into energy that we can burn. Proper hydration can help you eat less too, as we often confuse dehydration with hunger pangs, leading to snacking on extra unnecessary calories.

Dehydration can impact on your performance, strength and endurance when playing sports or exercising. Even just being slightly dehydrated can affect your performance. If you want to train harder and smarter, hydrate hydrate hydrate!

Research has shown that even a 2% drop in hydration can cause your brain to shrink and affect your cognitive performance. If you have a job that involves a lot of brain power and concentration, being properly hydrated can make your life so much easier. Hydration levels even affect mental health too. For example, if you suffer with stress or anxiety, being dehydrated can increase feelings of panic which adversely affects these conditions.
4) PROPER HYDRATION WILL GIVE YOU MORE ENERGY
Do you struggle to get out of bed in the morning? Feel groggy and lethargic all day or hit a slump mid afternoon? Hydration is proven to reduce feelings of fatigue and the horrible headaches that come with it. Get that water down you!
